At the beginning of every new year, many of us set fresh goals for ourselves and our families: eating healthier, exercising more regularly, going to bed earlier, or taking a more proactive approach to health. Yet in reality, many of these resolutions last only a few weeks before gradually fading away as work and daily responsibilities take over. The reason is not a lack of determination. More often, it is because we tend to start with major lifestyle changes while overlooking the most fundamental building blocks of long-term health.
